Ming Vases
Over the weeks before the holidays until now, the students in Years Three and Four have been inquiring into art in Chinese culture - specifically Chinese Ming Dynasty Vases. They also inquired into colour (warm colours and cool colours), pattern, line and motifs.
Students looked closely at the traditional colours, patterns, lines and motifs common to many Ming Vases and selected their own materials to create a collage showcasing what they have learnt.
Did you know that in 2017 a Ming Vase was discovered in a home in England - the vase was being used as an umbrella stand!!!! It turned out to be worth $20,000,000!!!!
Fascinating!!!
