Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to Week Five, of Term Two (an 11 week term).
Please check the Calendar section of the newsletter for upcoming dates and events at Sacred Heart School.
Welcome - Miss Ashley Byrnes
Last week we welcomed Ashley to our Staff as a CRT (or Casual Replacement Teacher). Ashley has been working at the Corryong College and will be working with us to help cover staff leave throughout the year. Please welcome and introduce yourself if you see Ash around Sacred Heart.
Mother's Day
Thank you to all of the wonderful Mums, Nans, Aunties and special people in the lives of our students who attended our Mother's Day Breakfast, Prayer and Open Classrooms. It was wonderful to celebrate you and with you all. With thanks to our Staff who make great events like this happen, on top of all the wonderful learning opportunities they make for our students.
Camp
We are currently finalising dates and destinations for our Year 3/4 camp later in the year (Term Four), but we can share our Year 5/6 students will be attending Urban Camp in Melbourne from Monday 28th July - Wednesday 30th July. (WK2, Term Three). Staff are currently working on selecting and finalising events that students will get up to all around Melbourne and details of early departure and late arrival at school will be shared closer to camp.
The cost of this camp is already included within school fees.
The Learning Pit
After our recent professional learning, Staff wanted to share with students something they had learnt about, The Learning Pit. This is a great visual representation of how we can at times feel when we are learning something brand new (not just our students, us as adults too!).
In the Classroom Happenings section of the newsletter you can read more about how the Learning Pit is being taught and put into practice in each classroom at Sacred Heart School.
I encourage you to use this 'Learning Pit' language at home as well, as it's a great way for our students to see that we can be challenged in all areas of our life when learning something new and how mistakes help us to learn.
P and C Meeting (Parents and Carers)
We welcome all Parents and Carers to attend our upcoming P & C meeting on Tuesday 27th of May at 6.30 pm at the Bottom Pub. Where we will discuss recent events, feedback and upcoming fundraising opportunities.

Please see the 'School Calendar' tab for some of the key dates for next term.
