Dear Parents/Guardians,
Mothers Day Breakfast
Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for our Mother's day Pancake breakfast. A shout out to the staff & students who cooked pancakes and organised the morning. It was lovely to see many families come together for this event to celebrate special family members. We hope all the mums out there also had a lovely Mother’s Day on Sunday.
Walk to School Day - come and join us!
This Friday 16th May is Walk to School Day. This is a national event held each year to encourage students, their parents and Carers to walk safety and regularly to school. We will meet at the Ampol Service stationat 8:10am and at the skate park at 8:20am on Friday morning and walk to school together if any students/ families are interested. All students will receive a tattoo on the day to help promote the importance of being active everyday.
Education Support (ES) Appreciation Day
Tomorrow,16th May we celebrate the work our wonderful Education Support (ES) staff do at RPS. Education Support Personnel Day is a day to honour and recognise the extraordinary contribution education support staff make to education. We thank our ES staff for all that they do in classrooms, the office, the sickbay, across wellbeing, in the canteen and garden, and in maintaining the school. Our school wouldn’t run as smoothly as it does without the support of each and every one of our ES staff members!
Cross Country
Good luck to the 40 students who will represent our school at the Campaspe event in Echuca/Moama on Friday.
2024 Annual Report
This week our Annual Report was approved for quality assurance by the Education Department. Our Annual report is one way for the school council to inform the community of what has been achieved in 2024 and how the school is performing. It is an opportunity to reflect on the school’s achievements and use this as a basis for future planning. It is great to reflect on the results we have achieved as a school and celebrate our successes whilst carefully planning to ensure our results continue to improve. If you would like to take a look at our Annual Report it is now available on the school Website on the Policies page.
EDUCATION WEEK AND OPEN DAY
Next week is Education week and we have many things planned across the week. Please see the timetable below. It includes:
Emergency Management Procedure
All schools are required to have an emergency management plan which includes a variety of processes for handling an emergency. These include at least one practice emergency drill each term. These include; evacuation offsite, evacuation onsite, lockdown and a zone lock out. We plan to hold an evacuation drill on Thursday 15th May. If you have any questions or concerns, please let their classroom teacher know so that we can put some additional supports in place
Attitude to school survey
In the coming weeks, all students in grade 4 to 6 will complete the Attitude to School survey. The Attitudes to School survey is an annual student survey offered by the Department of Education to assist schools in gaining an understanding of students' perceptions and experience of school. The survey only takes 20-30 minutes to complete and occurs during your child's class time. Our school will use the survey results to plan programs and activities to improve your child's schooling experience.
