Prep Learning Reflection

In Literacy this fortnight, we have been learning about the letters k, l, r and u. We’ve been practicing the sounds of the letters by building, writing and reading words with the sounds. Now, so far this year we've learnt s, a, t, i, m, n, o, p, b, c, g, h, d, e, f, v, k, l, r and u!
Our morning Core Literacy Block has been really consistent this term and the students have done an amazing job, practising sounds, letter names, heart words and handwriting!
Each week, we’ve been diving into a new text and learning a variety of new vocabulary words. This term we’re learning about the features of narratives and have been learning about characters and settings and sequencing the events of a story. The past 2 weeks we've read Farmer Duck and the Three Billy Goats Gruff.
In Numeracy, we’ve been continuing to learning about the concept of zero, have been counting up to 20, learning about 2D shapes and their feature. This week we've been comparing collections using 'more', 'less' and 'the same' and have been sorting shapes by their properties!
For our Unit of Work, we’ve been sharing and learning about the varieties and different structures of our families.
Thanks so much to those who joined us for our Mother's Day (and Special Person's Day) celebration last Friday. It was great being about to celebrate and acknowledge the amazing caregivers that give so much effort and love towards the students.
