Student Leaders on a boat - by Marc Phillips in 6E
One week ago, all of our Student Leaders got on a French Boat that was scouting the Pacific. It ended up here in Melbourne at the Station Pier in Port Melbourne, and we had a blast on the boat! We first explored the main and lower deck, then explored the upper deck. Up there, they had security cameras, cannons, guns, and so much more! We then ate our snack on a patch of grass, then took public transport back to school. Even though we were a bit late back to assembly, we coped amazingly well!
The French Boat - by Louis and Leon
Hello our names are Leon and Louis and all the leaders went to visit a French ship that travels in Asia-Pacific. It was so fun and we also got to see the cannon. It was so cool! We went by public transport and we came back for assembly in the nick of time.
August Benebig - by Liam
Last week on Friday all the school leaders went on an excursion. We went on this boat called August Benebig. Firstly to get there we had to take 3 trams number 16, 96 and finally 109. It was a long ride but it was fun and worth it. On the trams we chatted and finally arrived at about 9:30 - 10:00. We went on the boat a man greeted us in. He showed us all around the place, from the basement to the top of the ship. After we took our snack on the grass, it was time to go back. It was very tight and we had to go very quickly to not miss assembly. But then the tram was cancelled so we had to walk to the bus stop. Then we took the next tram but it went right past us. A couple of people ran to get it. We were about to stop it but when I was about to get through the tram closed on me and ran away ( by the way it was friday 13). Finally we got on the tram and ran to the assembly spot. We made it right on time, all the kids were sitting down waiting for us. We made it!!!!!

Division Swimming - by Alfie
On Tuesday the 10th of March a few students from CJC went to compete at the annual division swimming carnival at the Carnegie Memorial pool. 19 students won at the districts and were then able to proceed to divisions. The sun was shining and it was particularly warm which was great. It was a fantastic day for everybody. Everybody showed very good sportsmanship. We all tried our best and some participants even ended up with ribbons.
Lightning premiership - by Lea
Three weeks ago, the 5/6’s went to Caulfield park for lightning premiership! There were four sports: softball, cricket, basketball and volleyball. We went against A LOT of schools and some were very good and some weren't the best! Some of us even got into divisions! It was a great opportunity and it was loads of fun!
Ambassadeur en Herbe - by Amos Bloch
In one team there were exactly 6 people, first, the Fabuliste gave a poem on the theme of AI, then the Animateur of debate from the other team asked questions about the poem of the Fabulist. The 2 orateurs who had to give a speech of about 3 minutes, and after they give an argument about their speech, and finally the holder of speech gives a resume on how the debate happened.
The first day we went to Sydney and went to our hotel. We quickly met our cabin mates and went for a walk to the Sydney Opera House. The next day we went to the Botanical Gardens and took the bus to Canberra. At Canberra we had our first two debates at College of Narrabundah. Then the next, we had our last debate at the National Botanical Garden. After everyone finished there, we heard that the four finalists were Shanghai, Singapore, Beijing and Tokyo. Sadly, not Melbourne. Next, we had the final which was Tokyo vs Singapore. Tokyo won but Singapore was very close. The last day we packed our bags and went home.
3/4 Sports by Aimee R, Hugo G and Indigo V.
3/4 sport is an activity in groups organised by house colours (Garak, Acacia, Waratah and Banksia). Students participate in a variety of games, including Kickball (a kicking version of baseball), skipping, Cornhole, and Four Square (a ball game played within a court divided into four sections). Every two weeks the teachers introduce four new sports, which are then rotated around the next two weeks. We love 3/4 sport for the sports and the friendships we make across the Year 3/4 classes.
