Anglesea Primary Students Shine at Victorian Lifesaving Championships 2026

Last weekend, Warrnambool hosted the Life Saving Victoria Junior State Championships, where young lifesavers from Under 9 to Under 13 competed in a range of beach and water events including beach sprints, flags, board races and the challenging Iron Person.

We are incredibly proud that four Anglesea Primary School students represented their club and community: Ruby Charles, Aubree Cumming, Isaac Jones and Ray Flynn. Over three days of competition, they showed determination, teamwork and resilience—especially as the weather turned wild with rain, strong winds and heavy surf.

A special congratulations to Ruby and Isaac, who both returned home with medals. Aubree also performed brilliantly, finishing just outside the podium with several close fourth-place results.

The Anglesea Term Nippers program continues to grow, with more than 40 children participating this season, most from our school. Nippers provides a fantastic opportunity for young people to build surf skills, confidence and lifelong friendships while developing a strong sense of community.

Looking ahead, we wish former School Captain Milly Charles the best of luck as she represents Anglesea at the Australian Life Saving Championships on the Gold Coast next weekend.
