On St Joseph’s Day, our school community came together to celebrate the life of St Joseph with a special Mass, learning activities, and time spent with our House Teams.

Joseph is remembered as a saint because he was kind, faithful, and trusted God. He cared for Mary and Jesus and did what God asked of him.

Students learned more about St Joseph and the important people our houses are named after through presentations and fun activities led by our Year 6 leaders.

The day ended with a walk to the park for a BBQ, icy poles, and a colourful Fun Run, making it a joyful celebration for everyone.

In Italy, St Joseph’s Day, also called San Giuseppe, is a very special celebration. It is celebrated on 19th March, which many people believe is the day St Joseph died. Families celebrate with big feasts and special tables filled with food and decorations. These are called St Joseph’s Tables.

Some traditional foods eaten on this day are zeppole di San Giuseppe and sfingi di San Giuseppe, which are sweet donuts enjoyed by many families.

In Italy, La festa di San Giuseppe is a time for families to come together, share food, and remember the life of St Joseph.
