French Acadience Assessment

Calling all French teachers - French Acadience is now ready to go! French teachers, please make time within the next couple of weeks. I will bring around your folders this week.

A big thank you to everyone who has helped - The amazing assistants for making the folders, Edwige for coming up with the questions, Marilyne for picking the texts, and Raphaelle for starring in the PL videos!

For Years F-1 I have already been to your PLCs to go through the assessment. If you need any reminders or help on scoring, please see the videos linked at the bottom of the French Acadience PL

For Year 2 - I will come to your NCT on Thursday to go through the assessment with you as there are two subsets at the beginning of the year. There is also the resources and videos in French Acadience PL to help you. The assessment should only take at the most, 6 minutes per student.

For Year 3-6 - I have already seen year 3 and 5. I will try and catch the rest next week. You only have the one individual assessment 'FLO' (where students read you a passage), then they follow up with a Retell, and then there are a few comprehension questions (+CV section). Please refer to the French Acadience PL and the video at the bottom of the FLO page on how to administer and score. The assessment should only take at most, 5 minutes per student. Please try and do the assessment in a breakout room or quiet space, where other students won't overhear, as best you can manage.

There is also the whole class assessment 'MAZE' which is delivered whole class for 3 minutes.

All information can be found on the French Acadience PL slides or in your folders that I will bring around this week.

I am very happy to come around during your NCT times this week and next week to go through the assessment if you need, please let me know. I know we went very quickly through it at the PL a few weeks ago. You can also ask your English team for support as the assessments are very similar.

Reminder - NAPLAN is this week!

Just a gentle reminder for all teachers not in Years 3-5 that this week is NAPLAN week for our Year 3 and 5 students.  NAPLAN tests will be happening each morning during sessions 1-2 on Wedneday 11/3, Thursday 12/3, Friday 13/3 and Monday 16/3.

Could all teachers please remind students to move extra quietly around the school, mindful of our NAPLAN year levels during this time.

Thank you in advance!

Kim

Student Voice Representatives Meeting - Thursday 12 March
