5/6A - A Special Visitor

Class 5/6A welcomed special visitor Brad Battin MP into their classroom last week. They've written a wonderful thank you letter reflecting on what they learned.

Last Friday, Brad Battin MP (Member of Parliament) came to Balambalam Primary School.

 

He taught the 5/6s about his job and what he does in parliament and also the procedure of laws. We learned about the three levels of government, including how laws are made and debated. We did a mock parliament and we got to vote and debate on a law.

 

Brad told us about when the Members of Parliament are ready to vote on a law there is a light that flashes and they need to get to the chamber in four minutes before the doors are locked and they wont be able to vote.

We thank Brad Battin for coming and teaching us about the parliament and his experience.
