Celebrating Our SRC Representatives

At our recent assembly, we proudly presented our Student Representative Council (SRC) members with their official badges. This special moment marked the beginning of their leadership journey and recognised their commitment to representing both their peers and our school community.

Our SRC representatives were selected for consistently demonstrating our school values and for their willingness to take on responsibility. As student leaders, they play an important role in amplifying student voice, contributing ideas, and helping to make our school an even better place for everyone.

Receiving their badges was a proud and memorable occasion, not only for the students themselves, but also for their families, classmates and teachers who have supported them along the way.

We look forward to seeing the positive impact our SRC will have throughout the year as they work collaboratively to lead initiatives, support school events, and strengthen our sense of connection across the school.

Congratulations to all of our SRC representatives. We are incredibly proud of you!

Harmony Day – Celebrating Diversity and Belonging

On Friday, our school proudly celebrated Harmony Day, a special occasion that recognised the importance of inclusiveness, respect, and a sense of belonging for everyone, reflecting our school value of being Proud and Connected.

Harmony Day provided an opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate Australia’s rich cultural diversity. It reminded us that while we may come from many different backgrounds, we all belong and contribute to making our school a welcoming and vibrant place where students feel proud of who they are and connected to others.

Students showed their support by wearing orange, the official colour of Harmony Day, representing social communication and meaningful conversations. Many also chose to wear traditional clothing or outfits that reflected their cultural backgrounds, adding to the sense of pride and connection across the school.

At Grayling, Harmony Day was more than just a single event. It reflected our commitment to being Proud and Connected, reinforcing the values we strive to uphold every day:

  • Treating others with kindness and respect
  • Celebrating our differences
  • Building a strong sense of belonging for all

We were proud to celebrate this important day together and to strengthen our shared commitment to being Proud and Connected as a school community, where every child feels safe, valued, and included.

The Value of School Camp

School camp is an exciting and valuable part of a child’s learning experience. While camps are often remembered for the fun activities, they also provide important opportunities for students to grow socially, emotionally and personally.

Camp helps students build independence and confidence as they manage routines, organise themselves and spend time away from home. It also strengthens friendships and teamwork, as students work together, support one another and share new experiences.

Many activities encourage students to step outside their comfort zone, helping them develop resilience and a sense of pride in trying something new. These experiences often build confidence that carries back into the classroom.

School camps create lasting memories and help students develop important life skills. We strongly encourage all students to attend and take part in this valuable experience.

This year’s camp dates are as follows:

Grade 5 Camp – Phillip Island Adventure Resort - Monday 27th April to Wednesday 29th April 2026
