PRAYER

Soul of Christ, sanctify me.

Body of Christ, save me.

Blood of Christ, inebriate me.

Water from the side of Christ, wash me.

Passion of Christ, strengthen me.

O good Jesus, hear me.

Within thy wounds hide me.

Suffer me not to be separated from thee.

From the malicious enemy defend me.

In the hour of my death call me and bid me

come unto thee that with thy saints

I may praise thee forever and ever.

Amen.

From the Principal

Dear Parents,

Today is the Feast of the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, the Body and Blood of Christ. In recognition of this celebration the students in Grades 2 and 3 attended Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament in the Church this morning. This allowed them time to reflect on the real presence of Jesus in the Sacrament and in their lives.

Teaching for Impact in Mathematics (TIMS)

In the last two weeks classroom teachers and myself have attended a series of professional learning days focusing on Mathematics. These have been organised by Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools under the banner of ‘Teaching for Impact in Mathematics Series (TIMS). The initiative is based on robust research and aims to support teachers in building more high-impact instruction in Mathematics. This professional learning and accompanying resources will underpin our future strategic planning of our teaching and learning in Mathematics.

National Simultaneous Storeytime.

On Wednesday 22nd May we joined over  2,000,000 readers to hear author Aura Parker  read her beautiful picture book, Bowerbird Blues . Her book was chosen to be read to celebrate National Simultaneous Storytime 2024.

Waste Wise Wednesday

Parents, we would like to inform you that we are starting Waste Wise Wednesday.

Last week was Earth Day. The theme for this year is Planet vs Plastic. We have decided as the students of St Philip to take action to save our planet.

On Wednesdays we will aim to be waste free and not use plastic or wrappers. We will encourage all of the students and staff to use containers, thermoses, Bento boxes and if you can beeswax wrappers or reusable wrappers.

We encourage families to be mindful of the amount of plastic wrappers/rubbish that is used each day.

Thank you for your support with Waste Wise Wednesday.
