FIRST COMMUNION INFORMATION MEETING

Thank you to those who were able to attend our Parent/Child Communion evening last Tuesday. Facilitated by Beth Walshe from MACS, the evening allowed for interaction between children and their parents regarding this important Sacrament of First Holy Communion. The children responded well to questions and demonstrated a deeper thinking into what the Sacrament means. This was followed up at school and the children's preparation is well on track for a beautiful celebration on June 15.

WHOLE SCHOOL MASS

As the Feast of the Scared Heart is Friday June 7th, we will be having a whole school mass on Thursday 6th June at 9:00am in honour of that feast day. It has been a long Catholic tradition that donations in the form of money or food or clothing is gathered to be given to the poor.

Meaning of the Sacred Heart of Jesus:

Devotion to the Sacred Heart is devotion to Jesus and his love. It is a sign or a symbol of both the divine and human love that Jesus has for his Father and for us. It also symbolizes the interior life of Jesus which led to his willingness to lay down his life for us.

The feast day is celebrated on the 3rd Friday after Pentecost.
