Kindergarten and Year 1 Curriculum News!

Kindergarten

Kindergarten have been learning about the days of Creation in their Religious Education lessons. They also have a group of baby chicks to take care of this term and are learning how to be "Stewards of God's Creation"!

Year 1

Year 1 have been learning about the Ascension of Christ! They posed some ‘I Wonder’ statements:

• I wonder why Jesus went up to Heaven to see his Father?
• I wonder if Jesus was happy to see his Father, but sad to leave his disciples?
• I wonder why it's called the ascension?
• I wonder why Jesus wanted his disciples to baptise everyone?

Year 2

Year 2 have been reflecting on the events of Pentecost. They have written some prayers reflecting on the Holy Spirit!

Dear God,  

May the Holy Spirit help make my light shine and help me to be more loving.

Vinnie’s Winter Appeal 

We are still collecting items for the Vinnie’s Winter appeal. Please view below the items that would be of assistance to our local community in need. If you are able to donate any items please send them to your child’s classroom and they will be collected by the end of Week 8, 21st of June.

Matthew 25:35-37: 'For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me’

Confirmation

The Sacrament of Confirmation will take place on Sunday 30th June at 12pm and 2.30pm

Please note the following dates:

Confirmation sessions: All commence at 5.30pm

Session 1: 12th or 13th June 

Session 2: 19th or 20th June

Session 3: 26th or 27th June

Please keep in your prayers the families and students who are preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation!

Grade Masses

During the Term, Years 3 -6 have the opportunity to attend the 9.15am Friday Parish Mass. You are most welcome to attend any of these Masses and to join in celebrating the Eucharist with the grade that is attending each week. 

The dates for the grade Masses this term are: 

Year 6: Friday 7th June

Year 5: Friday 14th June

Year 3: Friday 28th June
