Tell Them From Me Survey 2024

Thank you to everyone who has completed the Tell Them From Me Survey. This survey will provide us with valuable feedback on what each group  in our school community thinks about school life, how engaged they are with the school and the different ways staff interact with them. Schools in Australia and around the world have used the Tell Them From Me survey to help them improve.

The survey takes approximately 15-20 minutes to complete.

Please use the link below to complete the survey. The survey will close on Wednesday 12th June.  http://tellthemfromme.com/olf2024

While participation in the survey is entirely voluntary, it is helpful to us as a school to ascertain student, staff and parent satisfaction data, so we can continue with successful practices and review those which do not enable us to work in partnership with one another as a Thriving Catholic Community.

If you would like more information, please contact the school office.

Semester One Reports and Parent Teacher Interviews

Semester One student reports will be published in Week 9 on Friday 28th June via COMPASS. Parents, this is a special time for you to praise the efforts of your child for the school year. The level of effort a child puts into their work is important to acknowledge in addition to the level of performance grade awarded. Praise this where appropriate.

Parent teacher interviews to discuss your child’s Semester One report during Week Ten can be booked via the COMPASS portal. The interviews are 10 minutes in duration.

Students from Years 3 to 6 are invited to attend the interview.

The interview booking schedule will be available for parents via COMPASS from Monday 24th June.

School Supervision

There are many students arriving at school early in the morning prior to school supervision which commences at 8.20am. Parents, please be aware that if your child arrives on the premises very early in the morning that there may be no adult available for any safety concerns. We encourage all students to arrive at school during supervision times.

Riding Scooters To School

There are a number of students who are choosing to ride their scooter to school without a helmet. Parents are required to sign a ‘riding a bicycle to and from school’ consent form which outlines bicycle safety procedures for students in Years 4 -6. This consent form does not cover riding a scooter or e-bike

Students are not permitted to ride scooters or e-bikes to school.

Mobile phones and Smart Watches/ Communication with Parents

Students are reminded to leave their mobile phones and smart watches at the office in the morning before school commences and to collect them at the end of the school day.

Parents, please remind your child that they are not to email you via their device during the school day. This is stated in the Technology Agreement signed by parents and students at the beginning of the school year. If your child is not well or if there is a change to dismissal procedures this information will be communicated by the school office.

Dangerous Parking

Parents please be reminded that students should not be dropped off in the morning or collected in the afternoon via parking in Burn’s Lane. Not only does stopping in this area add to the traffic congestion as cars leave the school premises but it is dangerous for so many families  who use Burn’s Lane to walk their students onto the school grounds.

School Uniform

Parents please ensure that your child is coming to school wearing the correct winter uniform. This includes boys wearing long sleeve shirts with long pants/shorts, grey socks and black school shoes.

Girls are to wear their winter tunic/navy pants with navy socks or tights and black school shoes.

The school’s sports uniform is only to be worn on scheduled sports days. Students are to wear white or black sport shoes with white sports socks.
