National Reconciliation week begins for us all next week on the 27th of May. With the theme ‘Now more than ever’ for National Reconciliation Week 2024, it is a time to reflect and continue building momentum towards reconciliation in our schools and early learning services, workplaces, and broader communities. This theme invites all Australians to learn more about our shared histories, cultures, achievements, and explore how everyone can contribute to promoting reconciliation in our everyday lives - in our homes, workplaces, and social circles.

As a school we have certainly made great progress in engaging the children and community in learning about First Nations culture. Across the school we will be participating in a variety of activities and acknowledgements supporting our learning and ongoing commitment in this important space.

Confirmation and first Communion

A big congratulations to the sacramental group who recently received the sacraments of Confirmation and First Communion. We take great pride in guiding our students through these significant milestones in their faith journey and offering support to their families along the way. Bishop Shane was thoroughly impressed by the children's dedication to preparing for this special day, and we extend our gratitude to everyone involved in making it a memorable experience.

Enrolments 2025

Our enrolment period has come to a close and in the coming week, Catholic Schools across Bendigo will be gathering their applications. Letters of acceptance will be dispatched on or before June 7thrd to both new and returning families. We're excited to carry on with the transition process throughout Term 3 and 4. For existing families with a child ready for prep, we're making a final call to submit applications promptly to secure a spot. Additionally, if your child won't be returning next year, please inform us as soon as possible.

Sickness and absentees

In our school community, like many others in the area, we've noticed a considerable number of staff and students dealing with illness lately. We want to thank everyone for their dedication to attending school, but it's crucial to remember that if children aren't feeling well, it's best for them to stay home and rest. Additionally, we have a few staff members currently away, but we're fortunate to have a team of substitute teachers stepping in to ensure that learning continues smoothly.
