Physical Education
Jumping into Gymnastics
Grade 3 and 4 students recently participated in an exciting gymnastics unit. With the expertise of Ayla from Moonee Valley YMCA Gymnastics Club, students engaged in a variety of gymnastic stations designed to develop a wide range of skills. The activities included handstands, forward rolls, cartwheels, and static holds, providing a comprehensive introduction to gymnastics.
The sessions were structured to ensure students could progressively build their abilities. Ayla's guidance was instrumental in helping each student understand and execute the techniques safely and effectively. Through these stations, students not only improved their physical strength and coordination but also gained confidence in their abilities.
Throughout the unit, the students demonstrated remarkable persistence and responsibility. Their positive attitude towards learning new skills was outstanding, as they encouraged one another and celebrated their successes. This experience has not only enriched their physical education but also brought out the best in every student.
