Art
Our Prep students have been busy adding some vibrant and creative touches to our up and coming school vegetable garden! This week, they painted wooden blocks in a variety of bright and beautiful colors. These blocks are now proudly displayed throughout the garden, bringing an extra touch of cheerfulness to the plants and vegetables growing there.
Our Grade 1/2 students have been exploring the art technique of "frottage". They used oil pastels to rub over different textures, creating unique patterns on their papers. Then, they painted over these rubbings with watercolors, exploring the oil-resist technique.
Our Grade 3/4 students created landscape paintings that feature reflections in the water. They used a combination of mediums to create their artwork including watercolor paint for the sky and water, acrylic paint for the land, oil pastels for patterns and detail, and chalk pastels for sunlight reflected in the water to bring their scenes to life.
