Preps

We have been busy getting our hands dirty and learning how to mix ingredients to make Oobleck.  We experimented with our Oobleck and created a dinosaur bog and observed the properties of Oobleck behaving like a solid or liquid depending on how much pressure you apply.

 

 

 

Grades 1 & 2

Finally, we were able to hatch the dinosaur eggs we made earlier.  We used vinegar and droppers to hatch our baking soda eggs.  Students created a science report using the scientific method.  You may notice that you have an additional baby dinosaur at home.

 

 

 

 

Grades 3 & 4

We have concluded our bridge design unit of work.  Everyone enjoyed the challenge of making and testing their bridges for strength.  Students learned about forces and acquired engineering skills.

 

 

 

 

Grades 5 & 6

Depending on our winter weather, we could model the size and distance between Earth and other planets in our solar system.  Other students chose a digital option due to weather conditions.  Students were surprised at the scale of our solar system.
