SENIOR SCHOOL NEWSLETTER REPORT
Subject Changes
We understand that students' interests and academic needs can evolve over time. If you and your child believe a subject change would be beneficial, the window for requesting this is now open.
To apply for a subject change, a completed and signed "Change of Subject Request Form" must be received by the senior school office by the end of Term 2. These forms can be accessed from Kelly Pondard in the Senior School office.
Submitting a request form does not guarantee a successful change; subject changes are dependent on availability and class sizes.
For any questions or additional information regarding subject changes, please do not hesitate to contact your child's year-level coordinator.
Senior School Soars in First Half of Term 2!
The senior school has been a hive of activity over the past few weeks, with students tackling challenging assessments, showcasing their sporting prowess, and participating in meaningful events.
Academic Focus: Our Year 11 and 12 students have been diligently working through their first round of SACs for the term. These tasks have provided valuable opportunities for them to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding, while also allowing teachers to offer targeted support. Students in Years 10 and 11 are diligently preparing for their upcoming exams and I am grateful for the teachers who have been providing them with invaluable study techniques through both Challenge and the VCE program.
Sporting Spirit: The intermediate and senior sporting competition have been held over recent weeks, with fierce but friendly rivalry heating up between schools in the Kingston Division. These competitions showcase the dedication and teamwork of our athletes. Keep an eye out for upcoming opportunities for the next round of intermediate competition.
Congratulations to the Years 10 boys who won the Kingston Division Football Championship last week. The boys will now attempt to qualify for the State Championships through the Southern Metro Regional Final.
Lest We Forget: Senior students played a vital role in our moving ANZAC Day assembly. Their insightful readings and thoughtful reflections on the significance of the day were a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by our veterans.
Year 12 Camp: As a highlight of the term, our Year 12 cohort recently embarked on their annual camp. This provided an invaluable opportunity for them to bond as a group, develop leadership skills, and prepare for the year ahead. Activities offered a balance of team building exercises, workshops, and moments of relaxation.
We are incredibly proud of the dedication and achievements of our senior students so far this term. Stay tuned for more updates on their academic and extracurricular endeavours throughout the rest of Term 2!
