National Reconciliation Week

“National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.”

“The dates for NRW remain the same each year; 27 May to 3 June. These dates commemorate two significant milestones in the reconciliation journey— the successful 1967 referendum, and the High Court Mabo decision respectively.

Reconciliation must live in the hearts, minds and actions of all Australians as we move forward, creating a nation strengthened by respectful relationships between the wider Australian community, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We all have a role to play when it comes to reconciliation, and in playing our part we collectively build relationships and communities that value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures, and futures.”

At BNWPS OSHC, we celebrate NRW as part of our RAP (Reconciliation Action Plan) and as part of this incredible journey that we started, as a community, in February 2020.

• Primary Colour Incursion with Andrew for next School Holiday Program in July: as this incursion was one of the highest demands ever, we decided to book Andrew for our next school holiday program. Andrew is asking for big cupboards boxes for donation. If you have purchased something big, such as a washing machine, TV or fridge, and so on, we would like to have the boxes!

REMINDERS:

• CCS (Child Care Subsidy): please make sure that you are eligible for CCS through your statement. You can check your eligibility through your Xplor Home app/finance or through your Centrelink app/account
• Direct Debit: Please make sure there are sufficient funds for the transactions
• Medical plans and Medications: You will be contacted if any medical plans or medications are out of date to provide a new one
