Principal's Report

Creativity & Endeavour. Respect, Inclusion, Resilience

Student-Free Day Friday 25th of July

Please note that we have needed to change the date of our upcoming curriculum day (student-free day). The curriculum day will now occur on Friday July 25. TeamKids will be available for full day bookings. The change of date was necessary due to the changed availability of a presenter we have booked to work with staff on this day. Monday, July 21 will now be a regular school day.

Following this curriculum day, we have one remaining date in the calendar for our final curriculum day, a report-writing day on Monday, November 3, the day before the Melbourne Cup public holiday.

Thank you for your understanding, and our apologies for any inconvenience this change of date may cause.

Movie Night

A massive thank you to our wonderful PFA team for all their efforts in putting together our community movie night. From wrestling with cables and sound systems as well as popping a tonne of popcorn, your hard work made the night an absolute hit.

The setup and pack down alone is no small feat, and we’re so grateful for the time and energy you all gave to make it happen. It was fantastic to have so many families enjoying the evening, laughing together and soaking up the fun.

We are incredibly lucky to have such a dedicated and spirited parent community. These events remind us what a special place Robbie Mac is, thanks in no small part to the people behind the scenes making the magic happen.

Thank you again, PFA. You really do make our school shine, even brighter than the big screen.

A Big Thank You to the Rudge Family – Inspiring Our Future STEAM Stars!

This week, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming the Rudge family to our school to share their inspiring work in the field of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics). The whole school came together to take part in engaging demonstrations and activities that sparked curiosity and wonder across every year level.

It was a real highlight of the term and a wonderful opportunity for students to see how science and technology come to life in the real world. James and Cam Rudge did an incredible job presenting their knowledge and passion with such enthusiasm – their excitement was infectious! From the moment they began, students were captivated, and the buzz didn’t end when the sessions did. The conversations and excitement continued in the playground and classrooms for days after.

We are so grateful to the Rudge family for giving up their time and putting so much energy into creating a memorable experience for our students. Opportunities like this truly help inspire the next generation of thinkers, creators, and innovators.

Be sure to check out James and Cam’s own article in the ‘What’s Happening’ section of the newsletter to learn more about their work and the exciting world of STEAM at Robbie Mac!

Well this is a "boring" matter

Robbie Mac Year 3 kids help choose the official name for the Suburban Rail Loop's Tunnel Boring Machine. They have chosen Elizabeth after Chinese-born Australian celebrity chef, restaurateur, cookbook author, media and television host and personality Elizabeth Chong. Some may know her from her wonderful TV series `Elizabeth Chong's Tiny Delights'. Thanks to the Yr 3 Robbie Mac kids for putting your minds to this task and choosing such an inspiring person. Thanks also to Minister for Suburban Rail Loop Harriet Shing MP and our continued support from our local member MP Paul Hamer their visit!

The 2025 Victorian Budget invests in a brand new playground at Roberts McCubbin Primary School. Great news. Thank you for the continued support from our local member, MP Paul Hamer.

Reports, Parent-Teacher Meetings & Student-Free Day

Teaching staff are currently working hard on student reports to reflect on progress across the first two terms of 2025. Many hours of effort go into compiling these reports, including analysing assessments across the semester and reflecting on student goals and classroom effort.

Reports were released this week of this term via Compass, followed by Parent-Teacher meetings next term to discuss student progress. This year, these meetings will be held on Wednesday, 30th of July, from 2pm onwards. Information related to how to book these meetings will come out on Monday, 21st July, at 4pm via Compass.

Our thanks to teachers for their time in preparing reports and hosting these meetings, as well as to our wonderfully supportive parents and carers for working with staff to ensure positive school outcomes for all students.
