On Friday, May 16th, our school proudly celebrated IDAHOBIT Day – the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia. This important day is recognised around the world as a time to stand in solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community and promote inclusion, respect, and equality for all.
As part of our celebrations, we hosted a vibrant and welcoming stall for all students and staff where they were invited to stop by, enjoy a slice of fairy bread, have their faces painted and pick up a range of resources designed to educate and support our school community. These included informative pamphlets, stickers, badges, and links to support services, all aimed at raising awareness and fostering a safe and respectful environment for everyone.
The stall created a fantastic atmosphere of connection and support, and it was wonderful to see so many students engaging in conversations and showing their allyship. Events like IDAHOBIT are a reminder of the importance of standing up against discrimination and embracing diversity in all its forms.
We’d like to thank everyone who visited the stall and helped make the day such a success. Let’s continue to champion inclusivity every day of the year!
