From The Team
Our Foundation students have settled beautifully into Term 3, embracing a range of fun and engaging activities. We celebrated 100 Days of Learning with great excitement, marking a big milestone in their school journey. The visit from Healthy Harold was a highlight, helping students learn more about making healthy choices in a fun and interactive way. The arrival of the baby chicks in Level 3/4 has brought lots of joy and curiosity, offering a hands-on learning experience about lifecycles. Students also enjoyed reconnecting with their Year 6 buddies, strengthening friendships, and building a sense of belonging across the school.
This term, we have introduced a new approach to literacy by combining Reading and Writing into a single daily Literacy block. We began this model in Week 2 and have been so impressed with how settled and receptive the students have been. This new Structured Literacy Block is designed in line with the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model (VTLM) 2.0 and is based on ‘The Big 6’ of Reading, which includes six key components: Oral Language, Phonological Awareness, Phonics, Vocabulary, Fluency, and Comprehension.
With such a great start to the term, we’re excited for more fun, learning, and special moments still to come.

Cultural Studies
This term, our Year F- 4 students will be exploring our neighbours in Asia. Throughout the unit, students will develop their geographical knowledge, simple greetings, main landmark features and cultural aspects of each country visited.
We will be focusing on the well-known Asian countries of Japan, China and Malaysia.

We are looking forward to exploring and gaining greater understanding of our neighbours in the world.
