Learning and Teaching

We acknowledge all First Peoples of the beautiful lands on which we live and celebrate their enduring knowledge and connections to Country. We honour the wisdom of and pay respect to Elders past and present.
National NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia in the first week of July each year (Sunday to Sunday), to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations histories and cultures and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on Earth.
This year’s National NAIDOC Week marks 50 years of the week-long celebrations, and the theme, The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy, celebrates achievements of the past and the bright future ahead.
At COHR, Students will explore, discover and learn about First Nations histories and cultures in Library lessons and participate in a session in The Loft in week one of Term 3.
As a whole school we would like families to contribute to a whole school display.
There will be templates in the foyer and students can bring templates home. As a family cut out, decorate, even write your own quote.
These people cut outs can be added to our whole school display in week one of Term 3.
Thank You
