POP-UP Cafe - Food & Hospitality

The Stage 1 Food and Hospitality class completed their final assessment with a pop-up cafe this week. The students were tasked with investigating what would be needed to set up a real, part-time food business and then design a cafe including a theme, logo and menu. Students then chose two dishes from their menu to produce for their "customers", their parents and teachers.

We had an amazing spread of themes and dishes from a French inspired vegetarian menu to some delicious American inspired burgers. Each group made a main dish and a dessert for four customers. The quality of the dishes was fantastic, and the students really enjoyed themselves. It has been an honour and a pleasure to teach these students, and they should be very proud of their efforts, as I know I am.

Here is some feedback from our wonderful customers.

"The food was very tasty with generous portions -  we did not go hungry! Dessert was something special and was beautifully presented."

"The food tasted delicious, and my favourite part of the dish was the potatoes! They were seasoned very well. The tomatoes had lots of flavours and I've never tried anything like it before, but I really enjoyed it."

"Tiramisu - delicious! The serve was humungous."

"Gyro: Was well presented but would have benefited from a sauce. It was spicy and tasty."
