Year 9 & 10

Dear families,

As we enter a key stage of the academic year, I want to highlight several upcoming events designed to support our students in making informed decisions about their learning and future pathways. These sessions are essential in ensuring students are guided, supported, and equipped to make the best choices for 2026.

Year 10 Subject Selection Information Evening

đź“… Thursday 7th August 2025

đź•• 6.00pm in the School Hall

đź’ˇ Gold Coast Camp Info Session: 5.30pm in the Hall (prior to main session)

Families of current Year 9 students are invited to attend this important evening, which outlines the Year 10 program, subject selection process, and the impact of these choices on future career and VCE and Vocational Major pathways. Staff will be available to answer questions and provide guidance. Parents will receive access codes for the online subject selection process. Students will also attend a dedicated session during the school day.

Year 9 Subject Selection Information Evening

đź“… Tuesday 12th August 2025

đź•• 6.00pm in the School Hall

This evening is for families of current Year 8 students as they prepare to enter Year 9 in 2026. The session will provide an overview of Year 9 programs, subject offerings, and the online selection process. It is a valuable opportunity to ask questions, meet with teachers, and collect the necessary information and codes for submitting subject preferences online. Students will also attend a session during school hours to support this process.

Year 10 into Year 11 Course Counselling Sessions

đź“… Monday 11th & Tuesday 12th August 2025

📍 By appointment (see Compass for full details)

All current Year 10 students have been allocated a time for a one-on-one course counselling appointment to discuss their subject choices for Year 11 in 2026. Parents are warmly welcomed and strongly encouraged to attend alongside their child. These sessions provide personalised advice about VCE, VET, and pathway options, ensuring each student’s program is aligned with their interests, strengths, and future aspirations.

These evenings and counselling sessions are vital to supporting student agency and setting clear, informed learning goals for the year ahead. We look forward to seeing all families engaged in these important events.

Warm regards,
