As we approach the end of Term 2, students in Years 9 to 11 have now completed their mid-year exams. This is a valuable opportunity for families to talk about the difference between homework and study—homework often being set tasks, while study involves reviewing, practising, and consolidating learning. These conversations can support students in reflecting on their preparation and performance, and in building positive habits for the future.
Semester Reports will be available to parents and guardians at the end of term, offering insight into your child’s academic progress and effort. Please take the time to review these together and celebrate achievements, as well as identify areas for growth.
For our Year 7 and 8 students, the end of Term 2 marks an important point of reflection. While formal exams are not part of their assessment program, students have completed a range of common assessment tasks. Families are encouraged to review upcoming Semester Reports together, discuss learning strengths and challenges, and begin conversations around study habits that will support them in the years ahead.
Our Year 12 students continue to balance the demands of Unit 4 coursework and SACs. As they move into their final semester of secondary school, the focus is on consolidating knowledge and preparing for final assessments. Parents can support their child by helping them maintain balance—encouraging routine study, sleep, nutrition, and moments of rest. Students and families are also reminded to stay in close contact with subject teachers and the careers team for support in their post-school planning.
Looking ahead:
We thank you for your continued partnership in supporting student learning and growth.
