Celebration Spot
Honouring and celebrating our student's achievements
Each week we love to celebrate any students who may have achieved something significant during sporting events, dancing, baptisms, theatre, music achievements etc. both inside school and outside school.
Please email reception@dcs.tas.edu.au with the details (we would love a photo too!) so we can celebrate together as a community.
Congratulations to the following students who made the most incredible decision of all and were baptised in recent weeks:
Hadassah (Yr 5) and Elizabeth (Yr 3) were baptised toward the end of May at Life Church Ulverstone, and Gracie (Yr 8) was baptised on the weekend at Gateway Church Devonport.
Avé (Yr 8), has been selected to attend the National Training Project intensive weeklong camp in Albury. The Flying Fruit Fly Circus and Circa Contemporary Circus will join to present the National Training Project. It is an opportunity to train with Australia’s finest circus artists and coaches. The National Training Project is designed specifically for artists serious about a career in circus, and a chance for those already working in the industry to improve and refine their skills.
Last weekend Myles Martin competed in the Bruce Cup Tennis Trials at the Domain Tennis Centre in Hobart. Myles was the overall winner of the event and is now in the Tasmanian State Tennis Team to represent Tasmania at the Bruce Cup Championships in Northern Territory in August this year. Congratulations Myles!
Congratulations to all our students who participated in the Devonport Cup Junior Tournament over the weekend.
There were 131 teams playing 313 games of soccer at various venues around Devonport! Special congratulations to Evie and Molly (both Yr 6), whose team won the Under 12 girls division.
Congratulations to the following students for receiving the DCS School Wide Way Winner awards this week!
