Wellbeing at Moriac
At Moriac, we are committed to fostering a supportive and nurturing environment for all our students. We are excited to share some of the key wellbeing initiatives that have been making a positive impact in our community since our last newsletter.
1. Kids Helpline Sessions
We have partnered with Kids Helpline to provide our students with valuable strategies and support. These sessions focused on teaching students how to manage their emotions, cope with stress, and build resilience. The interactive workshops are designed to empower students with the tools they need to navigate challenges both inside and outside of school.
2. Bravehearts Program P-2
The Bravehearts Program has been a pivotal addition to our wellbeing efforts. This program is dedicated to educating and empowering our students about personal safety. Through age-appropriate activities and discussions, students learn about recognizing and responding to unsafe situations, ensuring they feel confident and secure in their everyday lives.
3. Berry Street Education Model
We are proud to continue implementing the Berry Street Education Model in our classrooms. This evidence-based approach focuses on trauma-informed teaching strategies that cater to the social-emotional needs of our students. By integrating these practices, we aim to create a positive and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive academically and personally.
These initiatives reflect our ongoing commitment to the wellbeing of our students
