Visual Arts

During Reconciliation Week, with the theme "Now More Than Ever," students actively engaged in various collaborative art projects to celebrate and promote unity between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. These art projects provided a platform for students to explore and express the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The collaborative nature of these projects not only fostered a deeper appreciation for Indigenous art forms but also encouraged dialogue and shared learning experiences.

Students have also been creating self portraits. This project encouraged them to explore their own identities and artistic styles while learning about proportion, symmetry, and the use of colour. Each student began by studying facial features and expressions, then sketched their likenesses with attention to detail and personal flair. As they progressed to adding colour and texture, the students experimented with various mediums, such as pencils, paints, and pastels, to bring their self-portraits to life.
