Performing Arts
What a wonderful Term we have had in Drama!
A HUGE congratulations to the 5/6s on their fabulous production last night! Students in 5/6B performed 'The Masks' and 5/6 A performed 'The Election' to a sell out audience!
A BIG thank you to all the parents for your continued support. For arranging fantastic costumes to helping students learn their lines. I'm incredibly proud of each and everyone of them.
Prep-Fours
Students have been planning and rehearsing scripted drama.
Students planned their own script with a beginning, middle/problem and resolution/end and used the puppets to perform in front of a class audience. The 3-4s also recited scripts with a cast such as Jack in the Beanstalk and The Three Little Pigs. Whereas the Preps-Twos, made their very own stick puppets. Students focused on the role of their character/s and changed their voices.
The Little Mermaid
The whole school is very excited to have been invited to The Little Mermaid at the Geelong Arts Centre on Thursday 27th June. We are very lucky to have been able to secure these tickets as they are normally $46 each per child! This will be a wonderful experience for students to see a live performance on stage and also catch a bus into town. During Terms 1 and 2, students have been learning drama skills in their weekly drama sessions. It will be a fantastic opportunity to see some of these techniques presented live on stage.
Students are to wear their school uniform for the day and pack a normal school lunchbox. It's vital for students to have a big breakfast on this day, we will have an early snack before departing the bus and students will have time to eat their lunch when we arrive back.
Students will be catching a bus from Moriac Primary School at 10am and departing the theatre at approximately 1:15pm to come back to school.
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and a well deserved break. To all the students, thanks for sharing so much fun and laughter while we covered so many different aspects of Drama!
