Consultation Arrangements

At Glenroy Secondary College the consultative arrangements for 2024 will be:

Operational procedures
- The chair will be the principal and we will follow ‘Glenroy College’s meeting norms’
- Meetings will occur every 2-3 weeks and be within the normal hours of attendance. The schedule of meetings will include the consultative committee
- If representatives believe attendance at Consultative would put them beyond the 8 hours from the 30+8, then they may opt out of another meeting adjacent to the school day by negotiation with the Principal
- Tenure for Consultative Committee will be per calendar year
- nominations for ES and Staff representatives will occur in February each year and be overseen by the Principal and AEU Representative
- Arrangements to enable committee members (where the structure involves a committee) the opportunity and time to canvass views in their school
- time may be provided at the end of staff meetings for representatives to canvass views.
- Requests must be tabled and approved by CC at least 2 weeks prior.
- AEU rep and principal will communicate approved time to meeting organisers
- The AEU reps will schedule other meetings with the sub-branch where required. Additional time may be provided where needed and that request will come through the consultative committee
- time may be provided at the end of staff meetings for representatives to canvass views.
- Time release for one union nominee to enable consultation with the union sub-branch, which must not be less than provided in subclause (4)(d)(iii);
- The union representative is required to have 30 hours of Time release as per VGSA22.
- At Glenroy College, the union representative will be provided with the equivalent of one period per week (40 hours)
- Additional blocks of time via negotiation through CC, and approved by the Principal, is available to representatives where a significant school change is occurring
- arrangements for allocation of this time will occur as part of the normal allotment process in term 4, and the union sub-branch will ensure a process for this to be allocated is completed to support this timeline
- The treatment of confidential material as it relates to employees of the school
- all consultative committee members understand and agree that personal information disclosed during discussions will be treated confidentially
- The method of recording and communicating decisions to staff
- A link to the agenda will be sent out a week prior by the Principal
- Consultative members will be on a rotating roster of minute taking and minute dissemination.
- The minute taker will create a public facing version of minutes for staff
- The representative responsible for dissemination will place in Team and send notification to staff via email DL, and will do so no later than 1 week after the meeting
