Operational procedures
The chair will be the principal and we will follow ‘Glenroy College’s meeting norms’
Meetings will occur every 2-3 weeks and be within the normal hours of attendance. The schedule of meetings will include the consultative committee
If representatives believe attendance at Consultative would put them beyond the 8 hours from the 30+8, then they may opt out of another meeting adjacent to the school day by negotiation with the Principal
Tenure for Consultative Committee will be per calendar year
nominations for ES and Staff representatives will occur in February each year and be overseen by the Principal and AEU Representative
Arrangements to enable committee members (where the structure involves a committee) the opportunity and time to canvass views in their school
time may be provided at the end of staff meetings for representatives to canvass views.
Requests must be tabled and approved by CC at least 2 weeks prior.
AEU rep and principal will communicate approved time to meeting organisers
The AEU reps will schedule other meetings with the sub-branch where required. Additional time may be provided where needed and that request will come through the consultative committee
Time release for one union nominee to enable consultation with the union sub-branch, which must not be less than provided in subclause (4)(d)(iii);
The union representative is required to have 30 hours of Time release as per VGSA22.
At Glenroy College, the union representative will be provided with the equivalent of one period per week (40 hours)
Additional blocks of time via negotiation through CC, and approved by the Principal, is available to representatives where a significant school change is occurring
arrangements for allocation of this time will occur as part of the normal allotment process in term 4, and the union sub-branch will ensure a process for this to be allocated is completed to support this timeline
The treatment of confidential material as it relates to employees of the school
all consultative committee members understand and agree that personal information disclosed during discussions will be treated confidentially
The method of recording and communicating decisions to staff
A link to the agenda will be sent out a week prior by the Principal
Consultative members will be on a rotating roster of minute taking and minute dissemination.
The minute taker will create a public facing version of minutes for staff
The representative responsible for dissemination will place in Team and send notification to staff via email DL, and will do so no later than 1 week after the meeting
