Reading success

Chloe  in Year 3/4 WS and Jimmy  in Year 3/4 C headed up to the highest point of St. Augustine's School on Wednesday. Their visit to the roof was a reward for all their efforts and wonderful achievements in reading this Year.  A great view was enjoyed although it was very cold. Congratulations to Chloe, Jimmy and their families for all their hard work.

5/6 Winter Sleepout

Last Friday night, the 5/6 students were rugged up in their warmest clothes to participate in the St Vinnies Winter Sleepout. Students had a warm soup and a roll for dinner and had to entertain themselves with card games or telling interesting stories.

Sleeping "rough" for a good cause and experience what it is like to be less fortunate.

Each student who participated in the Winter Sleepout collected donations from family, friends and even neighbours to sponsor their sleep out.

Overall we raised $2000!! what an absolutely amazing effort. The school is so proud of you for all you have done to support people in our community.

BullyZero- Cyber Safety incursion

The 3-6 students were very fortunate this week to have a lesson in cyber safety with the BullyZero group. The expert, April, was amazing and gave our students an insight to what happens online. The students learnt about their digital footprint and how important it is to keep information private as well as being mindful on how we speak to others.

The students also learnt about the way we speak to others is extremely important and that we all need to think before we say.

We hope our students make good choices online and seek support from trusted adults.

5/6 IMAX Excursion

On a wintery Thursday, the 5/6 students embarked on an adventure to IMAX theatre where they consolidated their learning on Natural Disasters. They watched the documentary 'Extreme Weather' where they learnt about the ever changing environment that is effected by natural disasters like bushfires, tornados and floods.

The 5/6 students then walked to St Patrick's Cathedral where they walked around and explored the Catholics from the past that have shapes our Church in Melbourne.

A wet and cold day with great learning and exploring.
