Language Features: these are techniques used to engage the reader and to ensure the text is informative.

Analyse: examine something in detail.

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Read a non-fiction text with your child and get them to identify the language features in the book. Get them to justify they are features with evidence from the text. Ask them if the features made the text more engaging. How? Why? Justify their thinking.
