Allied Health Expo

The Allied Health Expo is a unique opportunity to connect with a variety of allied health providers. The event will take place on Wednesday, 19th June (Week 8) from 2pm to 3.30pm in the GSPV Church Hall.

Allied health includes services like physiotherapists, speech therapists, art therapy, counselling, and occupational therapists, offering essential services that supports physical, mental, and social health. These services can significantly benefit students and their families by addressing developmental and learning challenges, improving communication skills, and promoting overall wellness.

We encourage families to attend the expo, meet the providers, and find out how allied health can benefit your child.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Christian Studies

Christian Studies at Good Shepherd is a formal curriculum area assessed and reported on like any other. It has a dedicated time in classes each week and sits aside from worship and devotion opportunities. Christian Studies is an opportunity for students to learn about the worldview of Christians and an opportunity to explore spirituality.  It is important to know Christian Studies is never about assessing student faith, but about knowledge of history, context and practices of Christianity.

At Good Shepherd Christian Studies is explored with an inquiry focus and is inclusive for students of any background. Like any subject, learning in Christian Studies is differentiated according to the learners in the class.

If you are interested in learning more about Christian Studies, feel free to explore the following documents or get in touch with us.

Kiss & Drop

As students are dropped off and picked up in the school ‘kiss & drop’ area, we would ask that every effort is made to have them entering/exiting their vehicle from the passenger-side of the car. When children enter/exit from the drivers-side of the car, there are significantly increased risks. Thank you for considering this and making the school a safe place for all.

Dear Stage 3 & 4 Parents/Caregivers,

Each year at Good Shepherd Lutheran School Para Vista, we offer an opportunity for our students to participate in the ICAS Online Competitions. These are academic competitions that give students the chance to test their higher order thinking and problem-solving skills in Digital Technologies, Maths, Science and Writing. These competitions will take place in August this year

Participation is optional. This is an opportunity for students who wish to challenge and extend themselves.

If your child is interested in this opportunity, or if you have further questions, please get in touch with me via email  (jared.grierson@gspv.sa.edu.au) or come see me in person. You can find me in the office near the library.

School Absences

Please don't forget, if your child is going to be absent from school you will need to notify both their classroom teacher and the front office. This can be done via email. The front office email is: admin@gspv.sa.edu.au

This helps us ensure that your child is safe and accounted for, and that we have the correct information regarding their absence.

Siblings

If you have not yet submitted an enrolment application for any siblings of current students, please do so as soon as possible to ensure a position is available, the sooner the better! Your prompt attention to this is greatly appreciated. Enrolment applications can be collected and returned to the front office.

Growing Faith at Home

A first smile, a first word, a first step... We eagerly wait, looking for signs that indicate growth and then delight in and celebrate when these ‘milestones’ are reached. Then we look forward to the next one.

Children are always growing and changing. Walking alongside them, helping to nurture and encourage them in their development is a privilege (and sometimes a challenge), but it is what we’re about.

Helping them make sense of the world in which they’re born into. Helping them learn that God’s love is available and they are not alone builds a secure foundation, one which they can stand...

Here are some GFH conversation starters that you might like to explore with your family:

What is one way that you have grown over the past year?

What has helped you to grow?

God bless your week ahead!
