Our 2025 cohort of Yr 10 student will have the unique opportunity to engage in a tradie taster program through the Outer Norther Trade Training Centre. This program will run for the full year, hosted at ONTCC on a Thursday from 8am – 12pm. Students will spend a section of time completing competencies (units of work) from three different trades: Carpentry, Plumbing and Electrotechnolgy. This is an ideal program for students looking to get into a trade, or those who would like to try a few different trades before the focus their energy on one particular trade.

As a part of the pathway planning process our Yr 10 cohort this week visited tertiary institutions, with a focus of this visit on Universities. Students had the choice between visiting Melbourne Uni and RMIT or La Trobe’s Bundoora Campus. Students completed campus tours and activites at each of the locations. Hopefully the students gained an insight what Universities can offer them in the future.

We are inviting your students to Discover ACU events at our Melbourne Campus during the school holidays. Students across Years 10 to 12 can explore our campuses, engage in hands-on workshops and meet other students who have similar course and career aspirations. They can also chat with current ACU students and staff to get a sense of university life.
Parents and carers are most welcome to attend as well as we will be running a separate session for them while their teen is attending the workshop.
This is a very popular event with prospective students and registrations are essential.
Please note: there has been a date change for Discover ACU: Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedicine event. The event will now take place on Monday 1 July, 2024. Please see below.
