Thank You

A very big thank you to Vicki H (Sandy and John B’s mum) who designed, proposed and created a garden bed outside the gym recently.  The space looks amazing!  Vicki not only went to the effort to plan, design, budget, organise, buy, prepare the garden bed and finally plant, for the area, she even researched plants that would be appropriate to plant in that area.  It is great to have the passion and enthusiasm from our parents to help make our school looks amazing!  If you would like to help out with the Building and Grounds Committee, please contact Tom Chapman (Year 6 teacher) or Dan S (parent to Hugo and Ruby) our B&E Co-convenors. 

Parent-Teacher Mid-Year Meetings / Student Reports

Teachers are currently working on the semester one student reports to ensure they are ready for distribution to parents at the end of term. We hope that the Mid-Year report provides some insights for parents into their child’s growth this year. 

Teachers will be holding our annual parent-teacher meetings in week 2 of next term.  The meetings are an opportunity for parents to ask any questions about the Mid-Year School Report. 

These 10-minute meetings will be scheduled for either an afternoon or an evening, depending on teacher availability.  More information about how to book these meetings will be sent home via Compass before the end of term.

School Disco – Keep the date free

The Annual SRC School Disco will be held on Thursday 8 August.  The Prep-Year 2 disco will go from 5:00-5:45pm, Year 3-4 disco from 6:00-7:00pm and Year 5-6 from 7:15-8:15pm. Information on how to pre-purchase tickets will be published by the SRC early in Term Three.  Please note the disco is for current Solway enrolled students only.

End of Term Events

Pyjama Day (free dress) – gold coin donation for World Vision Sponsor Child is on Monday 24 June.  Please support the school in our World Vision Sponsorship providing assistance to children financially to ensure an education for children in third world countries.  Come dressed in your pyjamas!  Please remember foot wear must have back support (no slip on shoes and no open toe shoes due to safety.  When wearing free dress, tops must have sleeves for sun safety (no singlets). 

Bendigo Bank will be at our Assembly on Friday 21 June, where we will draw the three winners of the Values Raffle.  Assembly starts at 2:45pm this week.

The end of term 3 is Friday 28 June and students finish at 2:30pm.
