SJB Athletics Carnival
Our SJB Athletics Carnival will take place on Monday 24 June 2024.
Thank you to all parents who have completed the online consent form for this event.
All students will be transported to the carnival by bus, leaving school at approx 8:55am. Parents are asked not to take students directly to the carnival as they need to be marked on the roll at school. The only exception to this will be students of a parent who is helping at the carnival. These parents may wish to transport their own child to the carnival and will need to advise the school office by email as soon as possible. Please avoid doing this on the morning of the carnival.
Buses will transport students back to school in time for afternoon dismissal. Parents will have the option to collect their child/ren from Beaton Park at the conclusion of the carnival. Please remember to sign them out with the teacher responsible for their class at the completion of the carnival following War Cries.
Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 students will rotate in their class groups. Please note that the Kindergarten and Year 1 rotations will be non competitive, therefore, no ribbons will be given out for these events, with the exception of the 80m sprint run. See the rotations and time guide below.
All primary students will rotate and compete in age groups (the age they have turned or are turning in 2024). Any Year 3 student turning 8 in 2024 will rotate and compete with Year 2 students. Students can still mix with grade peers during bus travel, at lunch, during war cries, and when they finish each rotation.
A reminder the 800m event is for students who are 8 yrs - 12 yrs only. It is run in Junior (8-10yr olds combined), 11yrs and Senior divisions. Please find parent job allocations and additional information in the following attachments.

Rugby League Gala Day
On Friday June 14, a number of students in Yrs 3-6 travelled to Reed Park Dapto to participate in the NRL Catholic Legends Rugby League/ League Tag day! The sun was shining and every team was competitive in their 4 or 5 games played. While on the field, students displayed wonderful sportsmanship which was noted by teachers, parents and friends who supported them. Their conduct and approach was to be commended. Off the field, students enjoyed the canteen, socialising with one another and participating in some dance competitions. Many SJB students were awarded NRL merchandise for their talented dance moves!
A special thank you to our parent and teacher helpers, Mr & Mrs Harb, Mr Murphy, Mrs Luchetti, Mr Grose, Mrs Van Gemmet, Mrs Woods, Mr and Mrs O’Reilly, Mr Quain, Mr Wallace, Mrs Bywater and many other parents and grandparents who were a wonderful support crew on the day! We appreciate your time, care and support.
Some lovely feedback was shared by a parent helper, which I have included below.
What a great day! The team showed excellent sportsmanship, inclusion and fairness, it was extremely impressive watching them work together, problem solving and listening to one another. They should all be proud of how they conducted themselves.
