Year 6 Leadership Day

A few weeks ago, the school leadership team, the year 7 ambassadors, and some teachers welcomed students from multiple primary schools to come join us for a day of leadership fun!

We ran a multitude of inspiring workshops to help prepare the primary students for different leadership situations that could pop up in the future. These varied from learning about different leading styles to ordering themselves in different ways without talking! We even did the Cha Cha Slide! We were lucky enough to have Alyssa and Ryan as guest speakers followed by Rachelle, Andrea, and Sarah from the Maroondah council to lend a helping hand throughout the day.

The school provided an amazing barbecue lunch with some baked goods from one of the parents. The cheesecake especially was a hit!

At the end of the day the primary school leaders seemed to have had a pretty good time, and I can’t say we were any different. I hope that something like this will be done in the future as both parties benefitted greatly from it.

The Year 6 day was filled with fun and learning, and it not only strengthened the Year 6's leadership, but also the Year 7 Ambassadors'. We all enjoyed the fun games, getting to know new people, and most importantly showing leadership and helping others. Oh and I LOVED THE CHEESECAKE! – Sahara Fuller

The year six day was pretty good I enjoyed it and I’m pretty sure the year sixes did too. I enjoyed all of the planned activities and cooking sausages was so fun! – Emily Gordon

I found the year six day great. It was very interactive which I love, and how everyone at the event had learnt something about leadership well at least I did. I loved the food but the cheese cake was the best🌟– Lily Hirschmann
