At St John’s we want everyone to Be Respected, to Be Safe and to Learn. In Semester Two classroom teachers will continue to reinforce this PBL approach aligning with high academic and behavioural expectations. Teachers will continue to explicitly teach, monitor and acknowledge positive behaviour as well as promote our school expectations. House points will continue to be awarded and acknowledge the positive behaviours of our St John's students.
At St John’s there are many opportunities for students to hold leadership positions. This week all students have been invited to apply for the position of SRC (Student Representative Council). Once elected SRC members are invited to bring new ideas, issues and proposed solutions to the SRC meetings. SRC members consult with peers during year level assemblies and to represent the views of their level at the SRC meetings. During SRC meetings members learn about the SRC Protocols and participate in discussions about possible actions that may be undertaken by the SRC including but not limited to organising school events, improvements at the school, writing letters of gratitude and appreciation. Best wishes to students that are presenting their speeches Monday 22 July 2024. Successful candidates will be presented with their badges at our Whole School Assembly on Monday 29 July 2024 at 2.40pm.
Congratulations to members of the Creative Arts Student Action Team; Joel, Sophie, Diego, Mae and Maximus who are currently planning for the promotion of our School Production - Dodgeball Dreamers. The Creative Arts SAT Team invite students to design a Performance Promotion Poster and/or the Performance Program Front Cover. Please see Flexischool sent out today for further details. The SAT team will be visiting the classrooms early next week and provide students with all details.
Entries may be dropped at the front office closing Monday 5 August.
