Literature Studies

As part of St John’s commitment to deliver better student outcomes, the Year 5 - 6 students have embarked on a high quality, comprehensive curriculum initiative in the form of Literature Studies. This follows on from the learning the students have done so far in discussing and explicitly analysing texts in Literature Circles groups.

Novels have been purchased for each student as they work through key English outcomes and understandings in Language, Literature and literacy as part of this novel study. More information and details will be presented to families in our upcoming Parent Engagement Evening for Years 3-6 families Wednesday 7 August at 6:30pm

Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge

With only 51 days to go, we encourage all registered St John’s students to continue to increase their involvement in the challenge. Our current tally is a whopping 2122 books finished and 31 students who have completed the challenge.

Book Covering - More help needed!

Thanks again to everyone who has helped with the covering of the new readers last term. We still have a small number of P - 2 readers that need to be covered and we now need a number of novels for the Year 5 - 6 students to be covered. If you could please spare some time to assist us with book covering please drop by the office and collect a tub of books and covering contact. Thank you in anticiaption of your generous support.
