Sport News

Congratulations to Claude M for making it to State Cross Country. He came 51st out of 96 runners at State Cross Country Championships last Thursday 18 July at Yarra Valley. In true cross country style, it was a mud pit!

Congratulations to the CNPS Netball team who made it to the Banyule and Inner North/Moreland Division Netball Championships at Macleod yesterday. They won 3 out of 4 games and came second place. Unfortunately only first place goes to Regionals but they did so well and had a great day!

1/2 Postcards

This week, the 1/2 students wrote postcards to a loved one and went for a walk to post them in this beautiful old postbox. Here are a few of them posting their postcards.

Student Learning- 3/4

3/4L have been hard at work practising our rocket writing skills using the new vocabulary we have learnt. We also enjoyed a calming library session before Camp next week, we are so excited!

Term 3 Reading Focus: Literature Circles

In Term 3, students in 3/4 will be participating in Literature Circles. There are 6 roles within a literature circle. To prepare, students have been learning about the responsibilities of each role, and the reading skill which they will practise for each role. This week, students have been practising the role of Artful Artist (visualising). This requires students to use vivid details (e.g adjectives, verbs, personification, alliteration, etc) to visualise and illustrate a key event within the text they are reading. Here are some examples from the text The Wyrmstooth Crown, (a fantasy text, about a dragon name Guster!) which we have been reading as a whole class.
