ICCES Hockey - Term 2
On the last three days of Term 2, 14 keen College hockey players travelled to Shepperton to compete in the ICCES winter tour competition. The team consisted of players from Years 9 -12 - Lily Cush, Fingal Jackson, Arbella Little, Harry Brown, Harry Dorahy, Jack Jarvis, Ciaran Nelson, Sophie Merrin, Olivia Read, Isaac Shaw, Grace Potter, Charlie Hawthorne, Tom Templeton and our goalie Cairo Cullinane.
The tournament started on Thursday after an induction by the host school.
- Game 1: Bacchus Marsh Grammar, we won 6-1.
- Game 2: Goulburn Valley Grammer School, winning 7-0
- Game 3: Braemar College (Mr Horne’s old school) winning 10-0.
In all games, players demonstrated a great use of skills and teamwork to score all goals beautifully.
Day 2 commenced at 8:30 a.m. with our first game against Bacchus Marsh Grammar. Bacchus Marsh Grammar won 10-0, taking us into the grand final. Bacchus Marsh Grammar and Goulburn Valley Grammar School played off to see who would take us on in the grand final.
We took on the grand final with a hunger to take home the shield and won the game 11-1, with almost everyone scoring a goal, against Bacchus March Grammar. We would like to thank Mr Hawthorne and Mr Cameron for coaching and team managing, and all the teachers and helpers that made this such a great trip.

Mens Hockey - 14 July
A disappointing display in our first game after the break saw us defeated by Jackabytes 2-3 last Sunday.
We were missing a few regulars but our opponents were short so we should still have been able to play more effectively as a team.
Many thanks to Oscar Hawthorne and Liv Read who filled in for us. Both played well and slotted in easily. Thanks also to Mr Ben Hawthorne who took on goalie duties for this match.
Our goal scorers were Isaac Shaw and Ciaran Nelson.
