We are excited to share the highlights from our recent Potato Olympics in 3/4, where each student created their very own Potato Olympian and detailed their spud-tacular athlete profiles. It has been a week filled with laughter, competition, and unforgettable moments across six unique and entertaining events.
Our Potato Olympics was a smashing success, with students showcasing their creative Potato Olympians in events ranging from gymnastics to running. Each spud-tacular athlete demonstrated unique strengths and a few playful weaknesses, adding to the day’s fun. The trainers and judges utilised extensive numeracy skills to measure the success of each event.
Our students are gearing up for the Yarra Road Games with a focus on exploring diverse cultures. Class 3/4A will proudly represent Great Britain, 3/4B will bring the vibrant spirit of India, and 3/4C will showcase the rich heritage of Mexico. Each class has delved into their chosen country's culture, tourism, and Olympic champions, preparing to celebrate and compete with newfound knowledge and enthusiasm.
The basketball event was really good because we had to shoot buckets. It was fun to play with friends.

I liked the olympic events especially gymnastics. We had to put our potato athletes on a pencil balance beam and take one away at a time and see if it could balance. Nearly everyone in the class got down to 2 pencils, no one got down to 1

I am jealous of the Mexican food and the clothes that they wear are very interesting. I really hope to go there one day. Did you know that there are 107 Mexican athletes at the olympics.
- Hunter L
Mexicans have different clothing and they have an interesting culture. I really want to go to The Day of the Dead Festival to see all the colours

I liked doing the olympics with my potato because we can compete with our potatoes in the olympics at the same time as the olympians do in Paris
