Book Week Parade
St Edward's will be celebrating the CBCA Book Week in Week 5 of this term. There will be many different activities held in the libraries during Week 5 to celebrate. This years CBCA theme is "Reading is Magic". One of our students most loved events is our annual Book Week parade. We invite students to come to school dressed as their favourite book character. We also welcome members of our school community to join us in celebrating "Book Week" and see our wonderful students parade in their favourite book character costumes.
Date and times for the 2024 Book Week Parade:
Infants - Wednesday 21st August at 8:45am
Primary - Wednesday 21st August at 10:00am
Book Week - Colouring in Competition
Students, grab your texters and pencils, we are holding a colouring in competition to celebrate CBCA Book Week. Colouring in sheets will be sent home by Monday 5th August. If your child does not have one by this date, please tell them to visit Mrs Michell in the library. Entries must be handed back to the classroom teacher or office by Wednesday 14th August. Good luck!!
A reminder that there is just over 3 weeks of the Premiers Reading Challenge left. We have many students that have started the challenge and some only need to read a few more books to complete. If your Primary child is participating in the PRC and has not read all 20 books, please encourage them to visit the library in their break time to see Mrs Michell who will organise some quick reads and support them with logging their books to get them across the line.
Infants students have been automatically signed up for the challenge and will complete the challenge during their library sessions and class times at school.
Students are encouraged to log onto the PRC website from home, or access the PRC site using the iPads in the library in their break time. Students should now start to log books they have read using this link https://online.det.nsw.edu.au/prc/studentExperience.html#/ If you have any problems with logging books or access please reach out. cmichell@arm.catholic.edu.au
PLEASE NOTE!! Any books on the list that your child has read (or you have read to your child for K - 2) over the summer holidays can be counted for this year’s Challenge.
