Careers
Chace Smith is a Year 10 student at Seymour College who has commenced a school-based apprenticeship with MH Truck & Trailer Repairs in Highlands Road, Seymour. Chace has been gaining work experience by working one (1) day per week for the past eight (8) weeks with the employer and has loved the opportunity and learning new skills within the heavy vehicle industry. Chace was enthusiastic to transfer this work placement to a school-based apprenticeship. A conversation ensured with employer Marc Harvey who was prepared to employ Chace as a school-based apprentice, based on his efforts and genuine interest in the heavy vehicle automotive industry. MH Truck & Trailer Repairs are a great supporter of local students seeking a career in heavy vehicle. A former school-based apprentice is about to complete his apprenticeship whilst two former students from Seymour College are now full-time apprentices. Chace will work one (1) day per week in 2024 and transition to two (2) days a week in Year 11.
Chace has nominated GO Tafe as his training provider, because of them now delivering heavy vehicle apprenticeship training from their Seymour campus located in Loco Street, Seymour.
Good luck Chace.
