Rockin’ Rollercoasters!
To continue our Science unit about forces and motion, this week we looked at roller coasters and what keeps them moving up and down hills and around in a loop.
We worked in teams to make our own marble rollercoasters. First we tried making one with a smaller hill first and a larger hill second, but we found that our marbles did not have the momentum to get up and over the second hill.
We then made adjustments to our designs and put the bigger hill first which resulted in some more success in getting over the second hill.
Next week we will continue our investigation and even see if we can get the marble to do a loop!
