Reading is Magic: Celebrating Book Week 2024: 

Book Week 2024 is a celebration of the joy and importance of reading.

It’s a time to immerse ourselves in the magic of stories that transport us to new worlds, broaden our perspectives, and ignite our imaginations.

By celebrating Book Week, we encourage a love for reading in students, foster creativity, and highlight the vital role that books play in education and personal growth.

COMPETITIONS

To celebrate Book Week next week Wheelers Hill Secondary College have two competitions:

• Book Week Writing Competition - entries close 26th August
• Book Week Cover Art Competition - entries close 23rd August

Get Ready for Book Week, Coming Up on August 17th - 23rd!

"Unleash Your Imagination: Grab Your Pens, Put on Your Creative Caps, and Let the Writing Adventure Begin!"

As part of the celebration, there will also be a Principal's Choice Award, where our principal will select a standout entry to receive special recognition.

Book Cover Art Competition

Use your artistic skills to draw/design your favourite book cover and provide a blurb at the back just like you would with any book you’ve read.

Submit your entry to Mr. Yong where winning entries will be given a canteen voucher to acknowledge their artistic talents.

Entries close on 23rd August. Winners will be announced the following week. Looking forward to seeing your artistic talents flow!
