From the Principal

Inter-House Athletics Carnival | Year 12

The sense of community, connection and engagement we continually aim to foster at John Wollaston is clearly visible in this edition of the Wollaston’s Wrap.

The School’s Founders’ Day provided an opportunity for our community to connect and be uplifted as we celebrated our school’s 35th birthday. The events of the day evoked many emotions: a sense a pride and joy, excitement and gratitude. As a community, we raised $3800 that has been donated to the Anglicare SleepOut that raises much needed funds to support and care for the homeless youth in WA.

Days such as Founders’ Day require every part of community to connect and work together. I express my gratitude to the staff across the School, students and families who played a part in the preparation, organization, running and success of our special day.

This week’s Wollaston Wrap is testament to the busyness of the last fortnight, dedication of our staff and commitment of our students with a wealth of engaging academic, cultural, service and sporting events across the School.

It is wonderful to also hear from a variety of students as they share their reflections of these events with us.

The P&F Quiz Night will be held tomorrow night to raise funds for the Pre-Primary and Year 1 playground. Thank you to Jason Barron, Michelle Dalton and their team for all of their work in preparing the event.

The School was recently notified by the Children’s Crossing & Road Safety Committee that the Centre Road crosswalk has been reviewed and will be retained. This is great news for the safety of our school community. To ensure everyone’s safety, please make sure that you and your children use the crosswalk when crossing Centre Road.

With best wishes
