Curriculum Reform: Yesterday Mr Hudson (Numeracy Coordinator), Mrs Dunn (Literacy Coordinator) and myself spent the day in Dubbo with the other Diocesan Primary Coordinators and Assistant Principals looking at some of the new syllabi that are coming out this year and into the next two years. The Key Learning Areas that have been revised include History and Geography (known as HSIE), Creative and Practical Arts (CAPA), Science and Technology and PD/Health/PE. Including the English and Maths that have been implemented over the past two years, we will be implementing 7 new syllabi before the end of 2027. As a staff we will be looking at how to best prepare our Staff and how we will go about introducing all these new curriculums. It will be a very exciting time over the next few years educationally and we look forward to inviting parents to be part of our journey.
Diocesan Athletics: I am looking forward to being with our McAuley students who have been successful in reaching the Diocesan Atletics' Carnival which will be held in Dubbo this Friday. Congratulations to the 28 students who have reached this very high level of competition! I was very proud of both the skill and sportsmanship they displayed at our Southern Region Carnival and I am sure I will see these same attributes on display again on Friday. Good luck to all our students!
Confirmation: We are delighted to congratulate our Year 6 students who are making their Confirmation over the next few weekends. This is a very big step in their Faith journey, and we are proud to support them as they complete the reception of the Sacraments of Initiation.
Book Week: Book Week celebrations are not very far away! We will be dressing up for Book Week on Tuesday 3rd September. We look forward to hearing soon about all the fun activities Mrs Garnon has organised for Book Week.
Wishing you a great week!
God Bless,
